Rockstar names six GTA 6 radio stations
Rockstar published details of Grand Theft Auto VI’s in-game radio on 8 October 2026, naming six stations and confirming on-demand podcasts for the first time in the series. It is the first thing the company has said about the radio since promising more on it in September.
The six, with the names the announcement credits to each: Cocoteo FM (El Martillo and La Gata), Back Country Radio (MW and Delta Dawne), AfroBank FM (Burna and Palmsy), The Chamber 106.6 (DJ Kerry and DJ Tom), Flash FM (Robyn and Alex) and Dirty South Classics (Trick and Trina). Back Country also gets a third voice, a roving reporter and swamp meteorologist called Mud Dog Mike, reporting from an airboat.
Flash FM is the one longtime players will notice. It was a station in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and again in Vice City Stories, and Rockstar’s own line calls it “The Vice City institution”.
The podcasts are the larger change and they are getting less attention. Rockstar says the game “introduces a series of on-demand podcasts” alongside terrestrial radio, and that radio and podcasts alike can be heard in vehicles and on foot, through headphones and earbuds connected to the characters’ in-game phones. Listening on foot is new to the series.
What Rockstar has not published is how many stations there are. Today’s post offers “a look at six of the stations featured”, a subset by its own wording, and says the game spans “everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio” without naming a station for either genre. No total appears anywhere. Nor does a second dial position: The Chamber 106.6 is the only frequency Rockstar has printed for this game, and it appears in the announcement rather than on the game’s own music page.
That music page now carries a playable preview for each of the six, with three licensed songs credited inside each mix. Those are preview mixes and not published playlists, so eighteen songs are now attached to named stations while no station’s actual lineup is known.
One of the three things Rockstar promised in September was still outstanding when this was written. This post closes by saying more is to come, including details of the game’s “dynamic score”. That arrived on 15 October 2026, when Rockstar published the launch trailer and named Justice as the score composers.
Today’s announcement falsifies several claims on our GTA 6 soundtrack explainer, which said that no station, host or dial position had been named. That page now carries a dated correction, as does what Rockstar has said about Leonida.
