GTA 6 score album dated, three weeks after launch

Rockstar gave the Grand Theft Auto VI score album a release date on 29 October 2026. Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score by Justice arrives on 11 December, which is three weeks after the game itself.

That closes the last of the three things Rockstar promised when it announced the soundtrack album on 17 September. The radio stations came on 8 October. Justice were named as the composers on 15 October with no date attached. The date is what is new today, along with the shape of the record.

Rockstar’s figures are 30 tracks, going out “to all major music streaming services as well as on CD and vinyl”, plus “a number of digital bonus tracks included across all formats”. It does not say how many bonus tracks that is. Two singles are already out, “Flower in a Hurricane” and a new one, “Pusher (ft. Gesaffelstein)”.

It settles a question that has been open for weeks

Our GTA 6 soundtrack explainer has said since 1 October that the album and the score are separate products which get run together constantly. They are still separate, and they now demonstrably share a song. Rockstar says the score album’s 30 tracks include “Flower in a Hurricane”, and the same song sits at track 6 of the album’s 34 on its streaming listing. Nobody had been able to establish an overlap before today, and the honest reading is that one song is confirmed on both records and the other 29 are not.

Rockstar describes the music as an “adaptive score, featuring expansive compositions all dynamically tuned to the different ways players engage with the world of Vice City and Leonida”. It is not calling this the “dynamic score” it promised in September, and that phrase now appears nowhere on its music page. Rockstar has put its own two words next to each other without saying the two things are the same, so we are not going to say it either.

What a buyer can act on

Rockstar publishes no price for either physical format, and it is not selling either one itself. Its pre-order links lead out to Justice’s own shop, where the triple crystal clear vinyl is listed at €45 and the double CD at €17, both dated 11 December. There is no dollar price for either. That shop also describes the full release, bonus tracks included, as “a 3 hour-long suite of material from the game”, which is a running time Rockstar has not published anywhere.

Still unknown: the track list, every title beyond the two singles, how many digital bonus tracks exist, and whether any more of the score’s 30 tracks overlap the album’s 34.

This release now has three dates that are easy to run together. The game arrives on 19 November for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical soundtrack album ships on 20 November. The score album follows on 11 December. Our editions and pre-order guide keeps the launch dates apart.
